I recently joined a weekly organic co-op; mainly to start changing my eating habits. And because I don't really trust the meat and produce at the grocery store.
I'm not much of a cook, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know what some cooking terms mean... like dicing. But I bookmarked a website to teach me... and now I know to dice means to cube. ;)
Luckily being a part of the co-op will force me to cook more. It's helpful because they send out recipes featuring that week's meat and produce. Perfect because I don't quite know what to do with eggplant or a green tomato. I'm one who's always found it easier to make a box of macaroni and cheese rather than try to follow a recipe and cook something up. Hopefully joining this co-op will change that.
ohhhhh...I so do not like cooking. The eating part- yes. The work...nuh-uh.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for learning (and wanting to;) ....and guacamole!!! You are amazing for making it homemade:)))
You'll have to let me know more about that co-op thing - sounds awesome. And you totally cracked me up with the dicing comment!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have zero knowledge in the kitchen but now I LOVE to cook. There's hope!
Just visiting via Meg's Mingle.....love the coop idea. I'm rubbish at cooking so anything to help is good. I'm with Dawn....love the eating part. :)

I prefer eating over cooking, too. Okay, just tried the guacamole recipe and it was a diaster. I'll post about that soon! YUCK!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Betty, fontgirl, Casey and Facing50! I checked out all of your blogs!
Visiting you from Mingle Monday!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part (besides eating) is looking at the finished product and taking pictures of it, if it looks that good.
you're going to be great! just don't try to tackle really involved recipes at first, until you get the hang of easier things. i love to make egg dishes because they are quite forgiving. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, Nikki Jo!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the support, Kate! First try = not so good. But I do like to make egg dishes!
